Skating to help children

The D. Augustus Straker Bar Association, the State Bar of Michigan Young Lawyers Association and the Wolverine Bar Association co-hosted an Old School Skate Party recently at Bona Venture Skating Rink in Farmington Hills. Among those enjoying the evening were (left to right) LaNita R. Haith of Law Office of LaNita R. Haith; Kim Trueheart; Detroit attorney Stanley Pitts; Dawn King, attorney for the City of Southfield; Angela Enoch of The Bingham Law Group P.L.L.C.; Sherrie Farrell of Dykema Gossett P.L.L.C.; and Angelique Strong Marks of Handleman Co. The evening’s proceeds went to benefit Save Kids of Incarcerated Parents (SKIP). “SKIP uses (donations) to fund the programs we provide for elementary school children in the Detroit Public Schools who have a parent who is or was incarcerated,” said Strong Marks, who is also a SKIP advisor.
